South Korean island opposes plans to unleash pamphlet-laden balloons against North

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/southkorea/8403432/South-Korean-island-opposes-plans-to-unleash-pamphlet-laden-balloons-against-North.html
       Article :
The decision, reached at a meeting of the heads of 18 districts in Baengnyeong island, came after the communist North issued a fresh warning that it would open fire at places wherever activists released helium-filled balloons carrying leaflets containing news of Arab uprisings and calling for the overthrow of the North's regime. Pier workers, all Baengnyeong residents, would refuse to unload the shipment from a cargo ship early Friday, including 200,000 leaflets, large plastic balloons and helium gas tanks needed to launch the propaganda, . Pyongyang has threatened to open fire with artillery in retaliation for any pamphlet distribution near the border. Tourists have stopped visiting the island after the North shelled another front line island in November last year in protest at Seoul's naval training near the disputed sea border in the Yellow Sea.

Reaction:
I think that this was not the right thing to do, You never threaten someone because you never know how they will take it . Some people take things serious and they might decide to start a fire . It was not even that serious to threaten them . I think they could have said something a little more peaceful and maybe they couldnt got what they wanted (Maybe).

A search is continuing for people possibly still buried under snow, he said. The accident happened at a traditional market in the city, which experienced 70 inches of snow over four days ending Monday.Other parts of South Korea Gangwon province have also been hit by the heaviest snowfalls since records began a century ago. Homes in remote villages have been cut off, farms damaged, hundreds of schools temporarily closed and flights cancelled. Nearly 10,000 soldiers have been mobilised to clear roads.

  - Reaction:     I feel that its good that they finally found these people before they died . But I also think its sad that alot of people are still buried and might be died or dieing as they search. Another reason I feel this way because its plenty of people thats missing family members and they dont really have any clue where they at .

~ South Korean ship crew found safe after apparent attack ~

           Article:
The 20 crew of a South Korean freighter were found safe Thursday after locking themselves in a safe room during an apparent pirate attack. The Hanjin Tianjin was attacked by suspected pirates earlier in the day, but when a nearby South Korean warship hurried to the scene after being alerted, the officers found the crew unharmed. There was some damage done to the ship by the pirates'first and second attacks, Our crew stopped the engine to hold the ship and hid in the citadel (safe room) to protect themselves from the pirate attack. The company lost contact with the 75,000-ton, Panama-flagged container ship earlier Thursday when it was about 850 kilometres off the coast of Somalia, on its way from from Spain to Singapore. The crew consists of 14 South Koreans and six Indonesians.

  Reaction :
I think its good that they found all these people before they died or got seriously injured ,because I know they didn't have anything to eat or drink. Its also bad that they had to do this because of pirates trying to attack them .But i wonder how did the officers know that these people hid they self in this safe , because I know they didn't have any phones or anything to call .

              S. Korea confirms new foot-and-mouth outbreak

                                                        ~SEOUL ~
       Article :
South Korea confirmed on Sunday new case of foot-and-mouth disease five days after it declared the end of the worst-ever outbreak that cost some $2.6 billion from last November to March. The agriculture ministry said six pigs at a farm in the southeastern city of Yeongcheon were infected and ordered the slaughter of the animals and emergency sanitisation measures around the area.
Other livestocks at the farm, like elsewhere in the country, have been vaccinated for past months and would not be culled, a ministry official said, adding officials were investigating the cause of the outbreak.
South Korea's worst-ever outbreak of the highly contagious disease saw about 3.48 million animals slaughtered since November.
    Reaction:
I feel that its bad that this trouble thing is happening to these animals and  all them are dying off from this disease. This is also taking away their foo sypply . I think if they really tried they could find a cure for this and save alot of these animals instead of just slaughtering them .

I think that they need to come to a agreement by both countries coming together and talking about it , because both of the things their doing are not good for the earth . So i don't think South Korea sould protest in japan .
